Catering Assistant

Your work pattern will be 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) but you must be available for occasional flexibility to cover evening restaurant sessions and events between 8am-8pm. This is a term time only position working 36 weeks per year.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a professional catering, hospitality or commercial kitchen environment.
- Understands food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements.
- Can organise workloads effectively and work independently.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
- Has good communication skills and enjoys working with people.
- Confident using basic IT systems and digital record-keeping tools.
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, resources and equipment for practical classes and demonstrations
- Support teaching staff during practical lessons and restaurant service
- Manage deliveries, stock control and store food and consumables
- Maintain professional kitchen and restaurant facilities
- Promote high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and housekeeping
- Support learners in developing professional behaviours and industry expectations
- Assist with events, open evenings and curriculum activities
