Term time only (40 weeks) / Fixed term until August 2027 What we are looking for: Experience of working positively with young people aged 14 to 25, including those who may be distressed, disengaged or displaying challenging behaviour A calm, confident and professional approach, with strong communication, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills An understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and the risks that may affect young people The judgement to balance supportive youth work practice with clear, proportionate enforcement of college expectations The ability to remain observant, respond promptly to incidents and maintain accurate records Experience in youth work, education, community safety, security, policing, the armed forces or related setting Duties/Responsibilities Build trusted professional relationships with students and provide early support, informal mentoring and restorative conversations Maintain a visible presence through proactive patrols of college buildings, external areas and local community Respond to welfare, safeguarding, behavioural, medical and security incidents, escalating concerns appropriately Use positive engagement and de-escalation to prevent conflict and support a calm learning environment Work closely with Security, Safeguarding and Wellbeing, Student Experience, Curriculum and Learning Support teams Benefits: A discounted on-site gym, sports hall, fitness class, Starbucks, osteopathy and day nursery 5-minute walk from Ewell East Station Blue Light Discount Free online qualifications Free parking on-site Eye care voucher Nescot is graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted following its latest inspection in January 2023.
