Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Community Events Officer at NESCAN Hub. The Community Events Officer will be responsible for planning, organising, and coordinating community events related to climate action, engaging with local communities, and supporting the development and delivery of climate projects. This role is central to empowering communities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to take climate and biodiversity action through inclusive, impactful events and community development.

The successful candidate will lead the planning and delivery of a diverse events programme, including flagship public events such as Climate Week North East and Envirolution, as well as smaller, locally focused and member-led activities. A key part of the role is also leading the development and delivery of NESCAN Hub’s regional Carbon Literacy course, engaging both community groups and professionals.

This is a hands-on, collaborative role requiring strong organisational and communication skills, event management experience, and a proactive, community-first mindset. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about climate action and community empowerment to make a real impact in the region. Candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
