NES Fircroft are currently recruiting a Welding Resource Coordinator on behalf of our client, a leading provider in the UK engineering & services industry. The role will be based in Tipton, West Midlands. This is an initial 12 month temporary contract, with possibility of becoming a long-term/permanent opportunity. Mon-Fri, 37.5hrs per week – hybrid working 3 days in the office.

Purpose of the Role

The Welding Resource Coordinator will be responsible for sourcing, coordinating and managing welding personnel to support operational requirements across the business. The role requires a strong understanding of welding disciplines, materials and industry sectors to ensure the effective deployment of suitably qualified and experienced personnel.

The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, hiring managers and external stakeholders to identify resource requirements, assess candidate suitability and maintain a robust pipeline of welding talent to meet current and future business demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment and mobilisation of welders and welding supervisors across multiple sites.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pools to meet current and future project demand.
  • Review qualifications, certifications and experience to ensure candidates meet project and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct competency-based interviews to assess technical capability.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and provide regular updates.
  • Support workforce planning, succession initiatives and upskilling programmes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all onboarding, right-to-work and trade certification checks are completed.
  • Monitor labour-market trends to support proactive recruitment strategies.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in recruitment, resource coordination or workforce planning within welding, engineering or industrial sectors (Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Power, Energy, Renewals, Fabrication etc).
  • Understanding of welding processes (TIG, MIG/MAG, MMA, FCAW, SAW) and materials (carbon steel, stainless, duplex, nickel alloys, etc.).
  • Knowledge of welding qualifications such as BS EN ISO 9606 or ASME IX.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and stakeholders.
  • A solutions-focused, detail-driven and adaptable approach.
  • Candidates must have current right to work in the UK status.
