NES Fircroft is recruiting an HR Assistant on behalf of our client, a leading global plant‑building and lifecycle partner in the metals industry. This is an initial 12‑month contract, with potential for further long‑term work. 37 hrs per week, Monday‑Friday. Hybrid working offering flexibility from office and home.
Role Purpose
The HR Assistant plays a pivotal role within the HR department, serving as a key support function to ensure the smooth operation of HR processes and maintenance of all relevant systems.
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective administrative services such as payroll, producing key reports, maintaining employee records, and advising on policies, processes and procedures.
- Support improvement initiatives and act as the first point of contact for all employees and queries.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Essential
- Educated to A‑level standard or equivalent.
- Previous administration/assistant experience, ideally in HR.
- Confident user of HR systems and business applications.
- Use of HR information systems (e.g., SAP, SuccessFactors) and MS Office.
- Strong Excel skills – formulas and VLOOKUP as a minimum level of knowledge.
- High accuracy in data entry and record‑keeping.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proactive, efficient and organised.
- Commitment to excellent employee and manager support.
