NES Fircroft are partnering with our major Engineering & Services client to provide a Senior Control Systems Design Engineer for a major Nuclear project. Long-term project with potential for 3+ years work. Mon-Fri minimum 37hrs per week. Hybrid working available 3 days in Warrington office per week, with occasional visits to site in Cumbria if necessary.
Overview of the Senior Control Systems Design Engineer:
To work within the end client's design team, leading a team of Programmable Electronic System (PES) based Control System Design Engineers delivering, supporting others delivering and checking designs/updates to meet functional and business needs. The procurement, integration, installation and commissioning of the designs/updates is undertaken by others, hence is outside the scope of this particular role.
Essential:
- Academic Qualification: Minimum - HNC
- Professional Qualification: Minimum - Incorporated Engineer
- Experience of SCADA/PLC control systems and network architectures
- Proven experience successfully delivering a PES based Control System Lead Design Engineer role on external multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working knowledge of the appropriate Engineering Standards
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information to other team members/disciplines
- Providing support to Commissioning
- willingness to support early career Engineers
Desirable:
- BEng and Chartered Engineer
- Minimum 5 years successfully delivering as a PES based Control System Design Engineer on external and/or SL multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working understanding of the appropriate Engineering Standards
- Experience in the production of detailed design packages; Drawings, Specifications (CONCISE), Outline Installation Method Statements, CDM design risk assessments, Residual Risk Assessments, in addition to the supporting Quality, Operations and Maintenance documentations
- Experience in working with PES based Control System/servo drive interfaces
- Valid SC clearance would be beneficial, however, potential for this to be obtained upon offer of contract.
