This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Instrument Technician to become an integral part of a highly skilled, multi-disciplined team at the Wytch Farm facility near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. The Wytch Farm operation produces from 12 remote well sites, connected via infield flowlines to a central oil and gas gathering station. Facilities include separation, stabilisation, water injection, gas compression, drying and fractionation, oil export, power generation, sales gas export, LPG storage and LPG export. We are currently seeking an Instrument Technician who will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational testing of instrument-related equipment and systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the production facility. Working Pattern The role operates on a rotational pattern of 4 x 10.5-hour shifts (06:45–17:15), starting alternately on a Monday and Tuesday. During projects and shutdowns, the working pattern may change and overtime may be required as operational needs dictate. Key Responsibilities Work as part of a multi-disciplined team to safely operate and maintain the Wytch Farm oilfield in line with operational and maintenance procedures Maximise plant availability to ensure continuous processing of oil from multiple well sites Carry out maintenance in accordance with company standards and procedures Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on: Safety Systems and Fire & Gas Systems Flow Measurement Systems Pressure, Temperature and Level Control Gas Detection Systems DCS Systems Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures Complete Maximo work orders and raise new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failures Raise permits within agreed timescales to ensure maintenance is carried out efficiently Support projects and work closely with vendors and sub-contractors as required Comply with Change Management requirements, including Plant Modification Proposals Apply observation-based safety techniques to report safe and unsafe acts Actively participate in responsible waste management practices Attend and contribute to operations shift meetings Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards are consistently adhered to and actively promotedPlease note: this role includes a number of Safety Critical Tasks, and you will be required to demonstrate competence in operating specific systems.
