Join our client, a leading Oil & Gas operator dedicated to QSSHE, as an Occupational Hygienist based in Norwich, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the health of our workforce across Southern North Sea operations.

In this position, you will lead the occupational hygiene programme, focusing on the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive continual improvement and standardisation of monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems that underpin safe work environments both onshore and offshore.

Your expertise will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, best practices, and industry guidelines, while fostering a proactive culture around workplace health.

Required Skills:

  • Proven occupational hygiene capabilities, including assessing chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic workplace health risks.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting occupational hygiene monitoring, such as hazardous substance management (e.g., benzene, solvents, heavy metals), noise, vibration, asbestos, radiation, thermal hazards, and others.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate control strategies (e.g., LEV, PPE, RPE testing).
  • Competence in delivering occupational hygiene training and facilitating audits/inspections across multiple sites, including welfare and food preparation facilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex health and safety topics to diverse audiences.
  • Capability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Passionate about championing occupational hygiene and influencing management and workforce behaviours.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor qualifications or experience.
  • Familiarity with Health Risk Assessments and multidisciplinary collaboration (working alongside medics, HSE advisors, operations teams).

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Working towards or holding the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene, gained through either a qualifying BOHS-accredited degree or a combination of relevant BOHS modules.
  • At least 2 years of practical occupational hygiene experience, including knowledge of measurement techniques and exposure monitoring.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work out of our client's Norwich office Monday to Friday.
  • Willingness to travel to offshore and onshore operational sites as necessary.
  • Commitment to maintaining calibration systems and assurance processes for occupational hygiene equipment.
