A leading oil & gas company is hiring a skilled Offshore Mechanical Technician to join their offshore team. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of trade technicians to manage the maintenance and operational monitoring of mechanical equipment, ensuring safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and efficient offshore operations.
Job Offer
- Core role with a competitive PAYE day rate.
- 12 months initially but possibility of ongoing, long-term work
- Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.
- 12-hour shifts.
- Mobilising from Norwich.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled trade maintenance activities as per the maintenance management system.
- Ensure maintenance is conducted in accordance with company standards and procedures to minimize production impact and maximize plant availability.
- Raise relevant permits within the agreed time frame and generate new work requests for plant and equipment failures.
- Manage and maintain inventory of critical spares and stock equipment to ensure maintenance visits are completed on schedule and downtime is minimized.
- Support project activities and collaborate with vendors and subcontractors as required.
- Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures.
- Comply with Change Management Policies, including Plant Modification Proposals.
- Take responsibility for all waste management tasks related to individual activities, including cleaning up after tasks, waste monitoring, and disposal.
- Attend daily operations meetings to provide updates on planned SCE Maintenance, live defects, and ongoing remediation plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline.
- HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related industry.
- Extensive experience in maintenance and fault-finding on mechanical equipment.
Required Training & Certifications
- All valid offshore certifications, including MIST, BOSIET, and Offshore Medical.
