An exciting opportunity to join a leading UK energy operator supporting offshore gas operations in the Southern North Sea.
Working within the Maintenance team, you’ll provide mechanical engineering support to help maximise the reliability, availability, and performance of critical offshore equipment including pumps, compressors, engines, valves, piping, vessels, and generator systems. This is a 37.5hrs per week, Monday–Friday office-based role in Norwich, with occasional travel to onshore and offshore assets. 12 month initial contract with a possibility of long-term extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support across Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Integrity, and Metering
- Support shutdowns, outages, and maintenance activities
- Carry out root cause failure investigations and identify reliability improvements
- Help reduce production losses and improve equipment performance
- Review maintenance strategies and support backlog reduction
- Specify and procure replacement equipment and services
- Support Management of Change processes and technical documentation updates
- Manage third-party vendors and contractor costs
- Use maintenance systems such as Maximo
- Carry out onshore and offshore site assurance surveys
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and junior staff
Requirements
- Engineering degree, HNC or HND qualified
- 8+ years’ experience within oil & gas or another highly regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of offshore mechanical equipment and maintenance practices
- Experience supporting rotating and static equipment
- Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and Management of Change processes
- Experience with CMMS systems such as Maximo
- Strong team player with a proactive and safety-focused approach
- Experience with valves, actuators, HVAC systems, hydraulic awareness, or CompEx mechanical competence would be advantageous.
