Our client, a major operator in the UK North Sea, is seeking skilled and safety-focused Instrument Technicians to join their offshore teams. This vital role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge offshore processing facilities, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of critical instrumentation systems that keep gas production running efficiently and safely.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing on a range of instrumentation equipment including safety shutdown valves, extinguishant and fire & gas detection systems, level and pressure measurement devices, nucleonic instruments, and safety instrumented systems. Your contributions will directly impact plant availability and operational excellence in one of the world’s most dynamic offshore environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in maintenance, testing, and operation of offshore instrumentation systems
- Proven ability to safely manage Shutdown/Blowdown valves, Fire & Gas systems, and Extinguishant systems
- Experience with Fixed and Portable Flammable and Toxic Gas Detectors
- Skilled in maintenance of level, pressure, and temperature measurement equipment
- Competence in handling Nucleonic devices in compliance with safety standards
- Proficient in completing Maximo work orders and generating new maintenance requests
- Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and active promotion of workplace safety
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Time-served trade apprenticeship in instrumentation or relevant discipline
- HNC qualification in a related subject
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the oil & gas industry (onshore or offshore)
Other Requirements:
- Able to work 12-hour shifts on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off offshore rotation
- Ability to mobilise from Norwich (travel expenses covered at 45p/mile or economy travel provided)
- Accommodation provided, including hotel stay prior to mobilisation if required
- Flexibility for a minimum 12-month initial contract, with strong potential for extension
- Prior to mobilisation must have BOSIET, MIST and Offshore Medical with no restrictions
