NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer for our client, a global, industry leading power technology company.
Location: Lincoln
Duration: 12-month rolling contract (long-term work)
Hybrid working: 3 days per week in office
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for blades and vanes (BV) supporting our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business, you will be part of a growing team in a position that entails a large responsibility! Your day will be filled with interesting supplier interactions such as addressing, processing and containing non-conformances, utilising your quality experience with tools such as 8D, RCA's and 5 why's, analysing data for trends and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate internally with experienced cross-functional teams to uphold Siemens Energy quality standards, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.
Responsibilities- Supplier Involvement and Collaboration: Engage with suppliers to help resolve process related issues, including non-conformance management and containment.
- Supplier Quality Supervision: Oversee supplier quality performance, including corrective and preventive actions, initiate quality improvement programs/initiatives and risk mitigation measures.
- Monitoring and Communication: Continuously monitor and report supplier quality performance, help contribute to KPI's and communicate risks.
- Product and Process Qualifications: Supporting Product and Process Qualifications (PPQ), supporting suppliers in adhering to Siemens Energy Quality Management Processes and tools.
- Technical and Engineering Experience: A solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing is required (time served or degree qualified), with demonstrable experience of being a self-starter and dealing with unexpected supplier quality issues from beginning to end. Knowledge of inspection methodologies and capability. Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Experience in gas turbine blade/vane machining, casting and/or surface coating technology would be highly desirable. IT skills including excel/data manipulation.
- Quality and Risk Management: Proficiency in quality methods (5 why, FMEA, 8D, RCA) and risk management, with a focus on product functionality, delivery/cost, and resource constraints. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills across all levels of business. Developed initiative and diplomacy skills. Experience working within a global environment with good cultural awareness. Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
- Commitment and Travel: Demonstrates commitment, collaboration, positivity and structured work habits, with a willingness to travel as part of the job.
