We are seeking a Proposals & Production Engineer to join a leading engineering business specialising in metallurgical plant solutions. This role is responsible for preparing and costing customer proposals, managing enquiries through to successful delivery, and providing technical and production support throughout the manufacturing process. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Technical Buyer/Estimator and workshop team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cost quotations using SAP and Microsoft Office, ensuring internal approvals are obtained
  • Manage enquiries and customer orders from initial contact through to delivery
  • Monitor workshop and site job progress, providing updates to stakeholders
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding pricing, materials, services and outstanding orders
  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with company procedures
  • Provide day-to-day technical and manufacturing support to the workshop
  • Maintain accurate CRM and enquiry records

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within a fabrication or heavy engineering environment
  • Knowledge of EAF and associated equipment (desirable)
  • Commercial awareness with experience preparing proposals/estimates
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • IT literate (SAP & MS Office)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
