Pemex Deer Park is seeking a motivated and adaptable Finance Analyst – Accounting to join a collaborative Finance team. This role supports a broad range of accounting and financial activities, including accounting close, reconciliations, reporting, and transactional support. The position is foundational to ensuring accurate financial records and supporting overall business performance. As part of a lean and highly integrated Finance organization, this individual will be expected to operate with flexibility across multiple areas. Responsibilities may evolve over time, requiring a willingness to support both routine and complex finance activities across the organization.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • General Accounting & Financial Close
    • Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities
    • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and IFRS
    • Support preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reports
  • Planning & Analysis Support
    • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
    • Provide support in analyzing financial results and identifying key drivers
  • Controls, Compliance & Audit
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
    • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and schedules
  • Process Improvement & Problem Solving
    • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and accuracy
    • Investigate discrepancies and support resolution with a practical, solution-oriented approach
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Finance team members and cross-functional stakeholders to support accurate financial outcomes
    • Communicate clearly to resolve issues and align on financial impacts
  • Flexibility Across Finance
    • Support a wide range of Finance activities, including both routine and more complex tasks, based on business needs
    • Adapt to changing priorities and take on responsibilities across Finance functions (Controllers, AP/AR, reporting, etc.)
    • Willingly perform foundational accounting tasks critical to the success of the team
    • Operate with a “One Finance” mindset, contributing beyond defined role boundaries

Qualifications

  • Experience
    • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
    • Experience with SAP preferred
    • Experience supporting close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
