Role: Telecoms Engineer (Outside of IR35 or PAYE/Umbrella)
Based: St. Neots, Cambridgeshire PE19

Responsibilities
- The role will include planning, design, development, testing, installation, and coordination of telecoms engineering activities, including electrical/electronic components and systems, with a focus on automation.
- Coordinate activities internally and with other groups to accomplish objectives requiring knowledge of related functions and engineering fields.
- Use computers and selected programs to prepare reports and conduct analyses.
- Independently perform engineering duties requiring judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices toward set goals.
- Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities spanning one or more engineering disciplines.
- Conduct or coordinate complex analyses, advanced technical studies, and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices, business considerations, and potential legal or regulatory requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of National and International Telecommunications Standards and Specifications.
- Significant documented experience with the design of Telecommunication Systems: PAGA; Telephony; LAN / WAN / WLAN; Radio - UHF / TETRA / VHF; CCTV; Access Control Systems; Integrated Security Management Systems; Automatic Identification System; Collision Avoidance Radar Systems; Bird Deterrent Systems; Meteorological Weather Monitoring Systems; Radar Transponder Beacon (RACON); Structured Cabling System (SCS) CAT6 / CAT6A; Fibre Optic Cabling.
- Documentation experience: Functional Design Specifications, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Main Equipment Lists, Bill of Materials, Power & Heat Calculations, Radio and Wireless LAN Desktop Studies, CCTV Coverage Studies, Telecommunication Systems Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams and Layout Drawings.
- BICSI Technician (Tech) Certification.
- Minimum requirements of education and experience: More than 6 years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor’s or master’s degree OR another technical degree with 15 years of work experience within the relevant field.
- Working command of the English language.
- Experience setting up and preparing for Telecommunication Systems Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Installation and Commissioning experience onshore and offshore in an Oil & Gas / Petrochemical environment.
- Current Passport with minimum 12 months before expiry.
- Desirable (not essential): Basic Offshore Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) UK and Netherlands Sector.
