NES Fircroft is recruiting an HR Assistant on behalf of our client, a leading global plant‑building and life cycle partner in the metals industry, based in the Sheffield office. This is an initial 12‑month contract with potential for further long‑term work, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working offers flexibility from office and home.
Role Purpose
The HR Assistant plays a pivotal role within the HR department, serving as a key support function to ensure the smooth operation of HR processes and maintenance of all relevant systems. The role includes delivering effective administrative services such as payroll, producing key reports, maintaining employee records, advising on policies, processes and procedures, and supporting improvement initiatives. The HR Assistant will be one of the first points of contact for all employees and queries.
Required Skills and Knowledge

- Educated to A‑level standard or equivalent.
- Previous administration/assistant experience, ideally in HR.
- Use of HR information systems (e.g., SAP, SuccessFactors) and MS Office.
- Payroll experience.
- High accuracy in data entry and record‑keeping.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
