CE&I Control System Design Engineer – Drive Innovation in Nuclear Control Systems. Join a leading engineering team working on a landmark 3-year nuclear project based in Warrington, with flexible hybrid working options.

As a CE&I Control System Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the Silos MSSS SEP1 & 2 design team, delivering and reviewing cutting-edge Programmable Electronic System (PES) based control system designs that support critical functional and business objectives. While implementation, testing, and commissioning are handled by dedicated site teams, your expertise will ensure that designs meet the highest quality and compliance standards from concept through handover.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in PES-based Control System design on multidisciplinary external projects
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Engineering Standards in control systems design
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams and disciplines
  • Ability to support commissioning activities and provide guidance to early career engineers
  • Minimum academic qualification: Higher National Certificate (HNC)
  • Minimum professional qualification: Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience working on nuclear or SL (Site Licence) multidisciplinary projects
  • Five or more years’ experience delivering PES based control system design from concept through handover
  • Familiarity with advanced industry-specific standards and quality assurance processes

Preferred Education and Experience

  • HNC qualification or higher in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Incorporated Engineer professional accreditation
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in control system design within complex, regulated environments

Other Requirements

  • Commitment to a standard 37+ hour workweek, Monday to Friday
  • Willingness to engage in hybrid working arrangements based out of Warrington
  • Supportive attitude toward mentoring and developing junior engineers
