Technical Assurance Engineer- London or Birmingham, with travel between both sites as required.
We are currently supporting a major infrastructure organisation with the recruitment of a Technical Assurance Engineer to join a high-profile HS2 rail infrastructure project.
This role sits within the early design phase of the track infrastructure programme, working as part of a collaborative Rail Systems Alliance structure.
The successful candidate will play a key role in technical assurance, requirements management, verification and validation, and lifecycle stage gate readiness across a major multidisciplinary rail environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in rail and design projects who is looking to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant transport programmes.
Main Responsibilities Support the coordination and submission of technical assurance activities across the project.
Assist in maintaining the contractor’s technical requirements baseline.
Support the identification, decomposition, and management of project requirements.
Apply the relevant Requirements and Assurance Management Plan processes to support technical self-assurance.
Aid the elicitation of system and subsystem requirements through design development and assurance.
Support verification and validation activity to ensure assurance evidence is produced and maintained.
Help ensure assurance evidence is progressively delivered through each project lifecycle stage.
Assist with progress reviews, tracking, and reporting of assured deliverables and associated certification.
Support technical assurance readiness reviews ahead of interdisciplinary design reviews and lifecycle stage gates.
Assist with the preparation and presentation of stage gate assurance packs for acceptance panels.
Candidate Requirements Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience working on major multidisciplinary rail or infrastructure projects.
Previous UK rail infrastructure experience.
Direct HS2 experience would be highly beneficial.
Strong understanding of requirements management and technical assurance processes.
Experience using IBM Rational DOORS.
Previous experience in a similar technical assurance, requirements, V&V, or systems assurance role.
Strong communication skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and project partners.
Chartered status or working towards chartership would be desirable.
