Project Engineer – Industrial / Metals (Engineering & Commercial Focus)

We are working with a major industrial engineering organisation delivering complex projects into heavy manufacturing and metals environments.

This role would suit a Project Engineer who combines strong technical capability with a commercial mindset, and who enjoys being involved in both project delivery and customer-facing activity.

The role:

• Deliver engineering projects from initial enquiry and concept through to installation, commissioning and handover
• Act as the technical interface between customers, internal engineering teams, suppliers and site operations
• Support pre-sales and tender activity, providing technical input, scoping, feasibility and cost support
• Attend customer meetings, site surveys and technical reviews
• Produce and manage technical documentation, specifications, drawings and project plans
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards
• Identify opportunities for additional works, upgrades or value-added solutions during project execution

What we’re looking for:

• HNC / HND or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
• Experience delivering projects within heavy engineering, metals, manufacturing or industrial plant environments
• Exposure to customer-facing engineering roles, technical sales support or tendering
• Strong commercial awareness with the confidence to discuss technical solutions with customers
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a site-based, operational environment
