NES Fircroft are working in collaboration with a key client of ours who are looking for an Occupational Hygiene Consultant on a major refinery project in Southampton.
Work Responsibilities
- Undertake planned and ad hoc exposure monitoring surveys and qualitative assessments to evaluate potential exposures to chemical and physical agents.
- Advise on suitable measures to control potential risks to health.
- Prepare reports on workplace exposure assessments undertaken, review and steward recommendations.
- Support the team with training of employees on occupational hygiene related matters (e.g., hazardous chemicals and physical agents, use of controls to prevent or reduce exposure) as required.
- Assist the occupational hygiene team with turnaround support including design and test of confined space ventilation plans.
- Conduct reactive and emergency response measurements.
Education / Experience requirements
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Hygiene Technician or Occupational Hygienist.
- BOHS Module M501 Measurement of Hazardous Substances.
- BOHS Module M503 Assessment and Control of Noise.
- BOHS Module M505 Control of Hazardous Substances.
- BOHS Module M507 Health Effects of Hazardous Substances.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience using MS Office.
