Are you an experienced HSE leader with a track record of driving health, safety and environmental excellence across major infrastructure, construction or heavy industry organisations? NES Fircroft has been exclusively retained to support a leading organisation in the appointment of an HSE Director to provide strategic leadership across its UK & Ireland business. This is a senior leadership role working closely with the UK & Ireland Board to shape HSE strategy, strengthen safety culture, and ensure compliance across a diverse portfolio of projects and operations. You'll provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders while supporting the ongoing development of systems, processes and leadership behaviours that promote a positive and high-performing safety culture.
In this HSE Director role, your key responsibilities will involve:
- Leading the development and implementation of HSE strategy across the UK & Ireland business
- Providing expert advice and guidance to senior leadership on health, safety and environmental matters
- Driving continual improvement in safety culture, risk management and compliance performance
- Leading incident investigation processes and supporting effective corrective actions
- Developing and mentoring HSE teams while engaging with clients, regulators and key stakeholders
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering, Science or a related discipline
- Significant experience leading HSE functions within construction, infrastructure or heavy industry environments
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience engaging with regulators, clients and senior business stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive positive safety culture improvements across complex organisations
