NES Fircroft are supporting a key O&G client in Aberdeen with the above position, and keen to hear from candidates who have a design background within one of the following industries - ROV (preference), subsea, automobile, railways, motorcycle, agriculture.
We are looking for an individual with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but may consider someone with a HND, if they have suitable work experience alongside their qualification.
Ideally, we would be looking for someone with a minimum of 7 years' experience within design, and has a genuine interest moving into an operational role.
- Design specialist tooling to support projects, leading development of solutions, creating design layouts, working with the drawing office, checking all drawings and BOM, overseeing procurement, fabrication and testing
- Specify specialist ROV tooling from third parties, as required
- Create Operation & Maintenance Manuals for in-house new build tooling
- Review Project installation procedures to ensure practicality and efficiency from an ROV operations point of view
- Provide technical support to ongoing ROV offshore operations worksites as required
- Determine ROV tooling required to support particular operations and advise projects on all aspects of ROV interfaces
- Provide technical assistance to Commercial Departments during bid preparation from an ROV interfaces point of view
- To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of our client's current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations
- To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with client's policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with specific procedures
- To ensure his/ her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk
