The planner reporting to the Project Planner Lead will be an integral part of the PDE Project Team, working collaboratively within the Project and the PDE organization, systems, procedures, and methods.
Accountabilities
- Follow up and review Contractor’s schedules and plans.
- Review weekly and monthly progress from contractors and client reporting requirements.
- Daily hands‑on follow up of the activities.
- Assist and review contractors with their schedule development and reporting.
- Ensure the work is driven to schedule and is kept current and updated regularly for submission to the Project Management Team (PMT).
- Constantly review activities and suggest mitigations where necessary to maintain the project schedule.
- Qualify the overall project schedule for assigned responsibility with company, client, and contractor activities; follow up and report progress on the same.
- Coordinate with the Planning Team to support monthly and weekly reporting.
- Assist in preparing look‑ahead schedules on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Analyse and generate trends and forecast information.
- Prepare specific reports upon request.
- Provide necessary estimation assistance, highlighting risks and issues to the Project Planning Lead.
- Gather data for construction weighting analysis.
- Other activities as required by the Project Planning Lead.
- Assist with commissioning planning and reporting as required.
- Progress measurement check and analysis.
- Assist with baseline preparations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Minimum eight years of planning experience on major offshore projects with at least two years in a senior planning position.
- Systematic and analytical.
- Strong interpersonal skills applied to a multi‑disciplined project team.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
- Recent relevant experience in a Middle East shipyard is an advantage.
- Commercial acumen and project controls experience is an advantage.
- Flexibility.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, PIMS, and Primavera P6.
