We are looking for high calibre individuals to join our expanding team. This role is accountable for supporting the Contracting and Commercial Manager, responsible for managing document management in support of cost recovery and ensuring procurement activity compliance to the Development and Production Contract, alignment to business priorities and compliance to procurement procedures and contract governance. This role reports to the Contracting and Commercial Manager and acts as a procurement category advisor providing category-specific procurement expertise for Document Management Systems (DMS), ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and local standards.
The role supports governance, risk management, and operational excellence across sourcing and contract management activities, delivering secure, compliant, and value-driven outcomes. The role will engage with Legal, Finance, HSE, and the P&O functions to ensure seamless procurement delivery and contract management, compliant with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory obligations. The right candidate needs to have strong commercial acumen, ensuring alignment on business goals and delivering secure, optimal, compliant, and competitive, risk-managed procurement outcomes. All business activities will need to be conducted in compliance with Iraqi laws and regulations, the Iraq Standard Contracting and Procurement Procedures (SCPP) and with Code of Conduct, Anti Bribery and Corruption and Anti Money Laundering policies.
The Procurement Category Advisor for Document Management (DMS) is accountable for implementing and monitoring compliance with the business document management procedures, ensuring all documents required for cost recovery are securely stored. The successful candidate will act as subject matter expert for DMS, ensuring the procurement teams maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with Document Control and Retention standards.
The role will ensure all procurement activities adhere to the Iraq Standard Contracting and Procurement Procedures (SCPP), Code of Conduct, and anti-bribery/AML policies. The successful candidate will support audits and self-verification processes for category conformance. The role will support interfaces between the in-country based team, North Oil Company (NOC), North Gas Company (NGC) and remote category teams to ensure alignment to business priorities and compliance to procurement procedures and contract governance.
The successful candidate will manage risk assessments, maintain accurate records in all systems, and ensure adherence to anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and tax compliance requirements. The role will work closely with our partners in NOC and NGC to establish the state of existing contracting and procurement ways of working, including the systems, processes, and resources that support the efficient sourcing of goods and services.
The successful candidate will provide guidance on document management for subcontractors and JV partners. Supports cost recovery and compliance developing and maintaining processes to track and validate documentation required for cost recovery audits. The successful candidate will support audits and provide evidence for cost recovery claims, minimizing leakage and ensuring financial integrity.
The category advisor will coach procurement team members on document management and cost recovery processes as well as promoting compliance culture, contributing to investigations and corrective actions when needed. Execute compliance activities including audit resolution as applicable. Comply with all policies and procedures, leading audits and cost recovery matters.
You will have a University degree in Procurement, Audit, Engineering or other business/technical discipline and CIPS professional chartership (or equivalent) is preferred. However, experience and attitude are key, and weβre looking for someone who has:
- Genuine passion for the Oil and Gas business and the supply chain.
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in Procurement, audit and document management, ideally related to oil and gas services with large capex or onshore scopes.
- Approximately 5+ years of procurement experience in the Oil and Gas sector within procurement excellence, compliance, document management and risk management.
- Knowledge in application of PSCM contracting, supplier management and Project execution.
