Role: Power BI Specialist

Start date / duration: ASAP / 6 months initially

Location: Alexandra Dock, Hull

Onsite, Hybrid, Remote: on-site, 5 days per week

Rate: £17.00-18.00 per hour - PAYE

Working hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Core hours (9:00am - 3:00pm)

NES Fircroft are supporting a major Energy client with a requirement for a Power BI Specialist and keen to hear from candidates based locally in the region.

Job Deliverables and Skillsets/Experience Required:

  • Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards using data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, dataflows, and SharePoint.
  • Build and maintain robust data models to support scalable and efficient reporting.
  • Manage and maintain KPI scorecards, ensuring alignment across all levels of the business.
  • Ensure all reports are standardised, consistent, and follow agreed design and data quality principles.
  • Monitor and maintain existing reports, resolving issues and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualisations.
  • Support the ongoing development of reporting frameworks and best practices.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance across all reporting solutions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience with Power BI, including report development, DAX, and data modelling.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources such as SQL, dataflows, Excel, and APIs.
  • Good understanding of data transformation and ETL processes.
  • Ability to design clear, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality and consistency.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing KPI frameworks or scorecards is desirable.
