NES Fircroft on behalf of a leading Oil & Gas Operator are seeking experienced Offshore Crane Mechanics to join the intervention team in the Southern North Sea. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the maintenance and integrity of safety-critical lifting equipment across a number of offshore assets. You will be working as part of a team of multi-skilled technicians, ensuring that cranes and associated systems remain compliant, operational, and safe. This position is well suited to a proactive, technically skilled individual who enjoys hands-on work and offshore life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance on cranes, winches, engines, and ancillary systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and (where possible) electrical faults
  • Carry out major scopes such as winch and hydraulic ram replacements
  • Conduct mechanical inspections and maintain inspection records
  • Ensure all work complies with LOLER, PUK, and industry safety standards
  • Liaise with onshore cranes & lifting teams and external vendors
  • Monitor crane inventory, certification, and raise work/material requests
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications

Requirements:

  • Recognised mechanical qualification or apprenticeship
  • Previous offshore Oil & Gas experience is essential
  • Crane Competency Training (Stages 1–3) preferred
  • Strong understanding of crane systems, LOLER regulations, and offshore safety standards
  • Reside in the UK
  • Offshore certs in place

On offer:

  • Minimum 12-month PAYE Contract and highly likely to be extended
  • Shift Rota - 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, 12 hour days
  • Competitive day rate, mileage or travel tickets covered and hotel if required.
