We’re partnering with an established and growing design consultancy delivering high-value process design and project engineering services to clients across the chemicals, speciality chemicals, energy, and industrial sectors. As the business continues to expand its UK and international project portfolio, they are seeking a Head of Process Engineering to lead, develop, and scale their process engineering capability.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for technical direction, people leadership, and project delivery across the process engineering function. You will:
- Provide technical leadership and governance across all process engineering activities
- Lead and develop a team of process and chemical engineers at varying levels
- Set and maintain design standards, best practice, and technical quality
- Act as a senior technical authority across concept, FEED, and detailed design projects
- Support bid work, proposals, and client-facing technical discussions
- Oversee and participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and risk assessments
- Work closely with project management and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering (Chartered status advantageous)
- Strong background within a process engineering design house, EPC, or engineering consultancy
- Proven experience leading process engineering teams and complex design projects
- Deep understanding of process design fundamentals, equipment specification, and safety studies
- Comfortable acting as a client-facing technical leader
- Experience across chemical, speciality chemical, or industrial process sectors
