We’re working with a leading chemical manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Technical Authority to provide site-wide mechanical engineering leadership, technical governance and asset integrity assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical engineering standards, specifications and technical assurance.
  • Lead mechanical integrity across pressure systems, piping and fixed/rotating equipment.
  • Oversee asset integrity, reliability, RBI, corrosion and safety-critical equipment.
  • Provide technical input into MOC, CAPEX, projects and contractor activities.
  • Support COMAH, PSSR and relevant engineering standards and legislation.
  • Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis and engineering improvements.
  • Act as a senior mechanical SME, providing guidance and mentoring across the site.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
  • CEng or working towards Chartered status.
  • 10+ years’ experience within chemical, petrochemical, energy or another high-hazard/process environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical integrity, pressure systems and fixed/rotating equipment.
  • Experience with COMAH, PSSR and relevant engineering standards.
  • Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management skills.
