b Overview /b p As Lead Civil Project Engineer, you will steer CSA works on site for major substation and grid-connection projects across the UK. You’ll coordinate design and construction, manage safety and quality, and oversee interfaces with clients and subcontractors. This role sits within the Engineering team of the Operations department and offers exposure to live energy infrastructure environments. You will help shape delivery strategy and drive efficient, compliant project execution. This is a field-focused opportunity for an ambitious engineer to advance in the energy sector. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li market-leading benefits packages /li li accommodation support /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead civil, structural, and architectural activities on multiple projects from design through handover at live substations /li li Manage resources and subcontractor performance to ensure safe, compliant delivery /li li Provide primary technical support for CSA activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders /li li Define construction strategy for a portfolio, aligned with policies and approved designs /li li Inspect and approve civil and structural works, and perform onsite surveying for setting out and as-built data /li li Ensure timely completion of site documents, test sheets, and records; upload project documents to Procure /li li Troubleshoot construction phase issues and prepare technical reports for stakeholders /li li Interface with project management, design and construction teams for integrated delivery /li li Align construction plans with project programmes and integrate CSA activities into the schedule /li li Contribute technically to bids and tenders to support competitive submissions /li li Build client relationships, handle escalations, and participate in client meetings and industry groups /li li Act as deputy Engineering Manager when required /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Experience delivering significant energy infrastructure projects /li li Extensive work in live substations for a DNO or TSO in the UK (11kV–400kV) /li li Ability to interpret/apply engineering standards across projects /li li Experience supporting tendering, estimation and work-winning /li li Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with data interpretation /li li BTEC HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) /li li Emergency first aid at work competency and CSCS/EUSR site card /li li Strong communication, collaboration across departments, and confident presentation /li li Self-motivated, adaptable to change, and tech-forward /li li Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites /li /ul ul li effective communication /li li cross-functional collaboration /li li problem-solving /li li interpretation of engineering standards across a portfolio /li li CSA construction activities and setting out /li li surveying on site and as-built data recording /li /ul
