The successful candidate will be part of an energetic, expanding team, and will be expected to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues on multiple projects in a supportive, progressive environment. Depending on level of experience, the role will help deliver and possibly lead technical safety projects nationally and internationally. These projects cover a wide range of facilities and plant, processes and operations.

Key Skills

  • Applicants should have a relevant science or engineering degree, and possess strong analytical thinking, numerical skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Broad experience or a specialism is expected in the following:
  • Hazard identification, assessment and evaluation techniques including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie assessment, etc.
  • Function safety including HAZOP, LOPA, FSA, FMECA, Fault Tree analysis
  • Fire, explosion and toxic gas consequence and physical effects modelling using specialist software (e.g. PHAST, FRED)
  • QRA and other technical safety studies (e.g. BRA, EERA, ESSA, FERA, Facility Siting Studies) using commercial software (e.g. SAFETI, SHEPHERD)
  • Handling large-scale CFD projects using HPC and cloud computing
  • Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) studies
  • DSEAR, ATEX and Hazardous Areas Classification
  • Project planning and management
  • Writing proposals and coordinating bids
