Overview
NES Fircroft is currently sourcing a Document Controller for a 12-month contract with one of our offshore wind clients, based in Wirral. The role is responsible for managing integrated document and information systems that support operational compliance, audit readiness, and quality control across UK Operations. This position ensures alignment with global IMS policies, statutory requirements, and local operational needs. It acts as the primary interface for internal and external audits and contributes to the continuous improvement of document governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead local implementation of document control platforms including IMS, DORECO, Motion, Mobile Docs, DECA, SAP, etc.
- Manage document lifecycle processes: drafting, review, approval, publication, and archiving.
- Maintain the physical archive room and ensure consistency with digital archives.
- Coordinate statutory documentation handling to ensure legal compliance and audit readiness.
- Act as superuser and local trainer for relevant platforms; induct staff on document governance.
- Support internal and external audits; ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide reporting and support to Quality Sponsors on non-conformances and performance metrics.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in document control, preferably within renewable energy or large infrastructure sectors
- Strong understanding of legislative requirements for statutory inspections
- Excellent IT skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification or background in information management.
- Certified internal auditor (recognised provider)
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other company sites
