Are you an experienced Senior Design Manager or Engineering Manager with a strong background in civil and structural engineering? NES Fircroft has been exclusively retained to support a leading organisation in strengthening its UK & Ireland engineering function, with a focus on major infrastructure bids and strategic project activity. This is a senior, head office-based role supporting tender and pre-construction phases, where you’ll play a key part in shaping engineering strategies, coordinating multidisciplinary design activities, and providing technical leadership across complex infrastructure opportunities. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop practical, high-quality solutions that support successful project delivery.

In this Senior Design Manager / Engineering Manager role, your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Leading civil and structural engineering input across major bids and pre-construction activities
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing key technical interfaces
  • Supporting development of engineering strategies and buildable technical solutions
  • Reviewing engineering deliverables and providing technical assurance across designs
  • Managing external design consultants and supporting programme and delivery alignment

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Strong experience in UK infrastructure projects
  • A solid background in civil and structural engineering design
  • Experience working in contractor-led or design & build environments
  • Chartered status (CEng) or working towards it
