NES Fircroft are currently recruiting a Site Supervisor on behalf of our client, a Global name in the Science & Agricultural Technology industry, to support current M&E construction works on site in Bracknell, Berkshire. This is an initial 6 month temporary contract running until December 2026. Mon‑Fri, 36hrs per week.
Role Purpose
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day supervision and coordination of mechanical and electrical installation works on site. The role ensures that M&E works are delivered safely, to specification, on programme, and to the required quality standards, while coordinating effectively with other trades and disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting local Project Managers to supervise mechanical and electrical installation works, including:
- HVAC systems
- Pipework and plumbing
- Electrical containment, cabling, and terminations
- Plant and equipment installation
- Approved drawings and specifications (collecting visual evidence to confirm/support)
- Method statements and RAMS
- Relevant standards and regulations (e.g. BS, CIBSE, IET)
Health, Safety & Environmental
- Enforce site H&S procedures and company safety standards
- Be present at Supplier‑led task briefings and toolbox talks relevant to M&E activities
- Ensure RAMS and/or good practices are followed (e.g. live services, hot works, confined spaces, pressure testing)
- Where applicable liaise with local FM teams for LOTO processes
- Stop unsafe works and elevate safety concerns immediately
Quality Assurance and Control
- Ensuring installations meet design intent, specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Overseeing snagging/defects and re‑work
Materials, plant & logistics
- Ensuring correct M&E materials and equipment are available when required
- Liaise with:
- Principal contractor site team
- Design engineers
- Commissioning managers
- Other trade supervisors
Qualifications, Experience & Training
- SSSTS or SMSTS (mandatory)
- CSCS Supervisory Card (M&E relevant)
- Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
- First Aid at Work (desirable)
- Relevant permits and certifications (e.g. HV/LV awareness, confined spaces, hot works)
- Proven experience supervising M&E works on live construction sites
- Strong background in either mechanical or electrical discipline (or both)
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and handover phases
Working Conditions
- Site‑based role, in live construction environments
- May involve working in restricted areas, plant rooms, risers, and ceilings
- Flexible working hours may be required to meet programme demands (e.g. early starts)
