Contracts Engineer
Location: London, UK (up to 12 months) followed by the location in Europe.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12-months (renewable)

Dimension
Preparation, negotiation, award, monitoring the administration and support of the EPSCC contract in such a manner as to ensure the Project’s best commercial interests are both served and protected. Reporting to Contracts Manager.
Activities
The job holder is responsible to:
- Administer all contractual and commercial activities related to the EPSCC Contract, up to close-out, in compliance with procedural obligations and local laws.
- Ensure consistency & adequacy of documents such as Performance Bonds, Bank Guarantees, Invoices, Insurance certificates, Sub-contracts, and Confidentiality Undertakings.
- Prepare official correspondence with Contractor.
- Attend monthly meetings with Contractors as required.
- Assist in the negotiation of Change Orders on contractual and commercial aspects.
- Support Company Contract Representatives in timely issuance of interim and final certificates.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors/suppliers to secure positive and cost-effective commercial agreements for the Project.
General
- Assist the team in complying with local Law on Procurement processes.
- Demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding H3SE and H3SE rules implementation.
- Adopt exemplary behaviour concerning ethics and project “code of conduct” policy.
- Participate in meetings with partners, authorities, and other stakeholders as required.
- Carry out any other duties or tasks that may be required by the position.
Qualifications/Experience required
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Law, Commercial or Engineering, ideally with a post-graduate qualification in a complementary discipline.
Experience :
- 15+ years’ experience in preparation, negotiation, and monitoring of complex technical contracts in the onshore and offshore oil or petrochemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of contractor remuneration and their commercial implications.
- Experience with FIDIC contracts is a plus.
- Knowledge of project services and contract processes including management, amendment & close out of contracts.
- General knowledge of project control, commercial, legal and insurance issues affecting the Company.
- Basic understanding of the technical domain in which the Project operates.
- Good interpersonal, communication, managerial & organizational skills, capable of working under pressure in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to adapt and represent the Company in discussions/negotiations with Contractors.
- Ability to challenge views of contractors and negotiate reasonable settlements while maintaining good relationships.
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
