Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for your next opportunity within the Oil & Gas or energy sector? We are currently recruiting for Mechanical Engineers to join the Maintenance team of a leading UK energy operator, supporting the safe and reliable operation of offshore gas assets across the Southern North Sea.
Excellent opportunities for experienced Mechanical Engineers to play a key role in improving the reliability, availability and performance of critical mechanical equipment, while working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Projects and Integrity teams. The roles are based in Norwich, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to onshore and offshore assets.
The Role
As Mechanical Engineer, you will provide specialist mechanical engineering support across a wide range of equipment and maintenance activities. You'll help identify equipment issues, improve reliability, reduce unplanned interventions and support the continued safe and efficient operation of the assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support to Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Integrity and Metering teams
- Provide engineering support during shutdowns, outages and maintenance activities
- Investigate equipment failures and undertake Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance and efficiency
- Support the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, routines and procedures
- Review maintenance requirements and help reduce maintenance backlogs and unnecessary interventions
- Specify, cost and procure replacement mechanical equipment and services
- Support Management of Change (MoC) processes and ensure engineering documentation and equipment records are maintained
- Monitor and manage third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring value and cost-effectiveness
- Utilise electronic maintenance management systems such as Maximo
- Carry out Site Assurance Surveys at onshore and offshore facilities
- Provide technical guidance, support and training to technicians and junior personnel
