An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Instrument & Analyser Technician to join a leading process manufacturing business operating a high-hazard COMAH site.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety and performance of critical instrumentation and analyser systems within a continuous process environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on instrumentation and analyser systems.
  • Fault find, repair and calibrate process analysers including GC, NIR, TOC, pH and conductivity analysers.
  • Perform hazardous area inspections in accordance with IEC60079.
  • Maintain safety-critical instrumentation and gas detection systems.
  • Support installation, commissioning and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work within Permit to Work systems and supervise contractors where required.
  • Record maintenance activities using SAP or similar CMMS.

Experience & Qualifications

  • You will have experience within the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas or other COMAH process industries.
  • Recognised apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3/ONC or equivalent.
  • Current CompEx Ex01-Ex04 certification.
  • Strong knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR and instrument fault finding.
  • Experience maintaining industrial analyser systems such as GC, NIR, TOC, pH and conductivity analysers.
  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (IEC61511).
  • Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Honeywell DCS, SAP, Emerson AMS, FieldCare, Swagelok or 18th Edition is advantageous.
