This role will get a lot of applicants. Realistically less than 20% will have the billing track record and market depth this firm is looking for. If you’re a strong biller who knows how to run a retained search, don’t let the application numbers put you off - this is worth a conversation.

Founded in 2024, this specialist tech search firm has gone from zero to $1m billed in 13 months, with the founder personally billed $980k in 2025. 2026 projection is $2.5m. They work exclusively on retained mandates with some of the fastest growing VC-backed scale‑ups in the US. Data, AI, Software Product and Cloud. Roles typically sit at $150-400k+ total comp. Average fees are typically $40-50k, time to fill 30-45 days.

Their comms scheme goes up to 40% with no threshold, and no splits on passed deals. This is not a CV shop. The market is candidate-driven and the expectation is you’re deeply networked, consultative, and capable of running a proper retained search. Every consultant gets live retained mandates from day one.
