We are looking for a Software Development Team Leader who is as passionate about mentoring others as they are about writing exceptional code. You will lead a talented team of developers, guiding them through the full software development lifecycle - from concept to delivery - while staying hands-on and close to the technology. You will take ownership of our software delivery process, ensuring every project meets our standards for quality, performance, and innovation. You will lead, inspire, guide and support a team of developers to reach their potential, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
Day To Day You Will:
- Manage the full lifecycle of software projects - planning, development, delivery, and beyond.
- Work with product owners, project managers, and stakeholders to define priorities and remove roadblocks.
- Keep projects on time, on budget, and on spec, making key technical and architectural decisions.
- Contribute to development work and demonstrate best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure development best practices are followed.
- Stay ahead of emerging tools and technologies - and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Partner with QA, UX/UI, and DevOps to deliver seamless, scalable solutions.
- Keep communication open and transparent - inside the team and across the business.
You will bring:
- A Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar and hands-on development experience with C#, ASP.NET, and .NET framework; preferably including experience of developing with VB.NET.
- A natural leader who brings out the best in others and proven past experience leading or mentoring development teams.
- A strong background in SQL Server/MySQL, API development, and RESTful services.
- Familiarity with DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
We would love it if you have experience in Retail, Manufacturing; or Cloud environments being an advantage. This role is based at our stunning offices in Swindon, Wiltshire, with some home remote working during the week.
