About the Role

You will be pivotal in driving our people strategy, enhancing employee relations, spearheading recruitment, overseeing payroll, and ensuring full compliance with employment laws and health and safety standards. This role is critical for fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Culture:

  • Act as the go-to expert for resolving complex employee relations issues, handling grievances, performance challenges, and workplace conflicts with precision and empathy.
  • Lead initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive culture, ensuring strong employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Partner with managers to resolve challenges related to absenteeism, performance, disciplinary actions, and health concerns, ensuring best practices.

Policy Development & Compliance:

  • Design, implement, and continuously update HR policies that align with legal requirements, best practices, and the company\’s evolving needs.
  • Stay ahead of UK employment law changes, ensuring seamless implementation and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team to streamline payroll accuracy and efficiency, ensuring a smooth and timely pay run.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead a full-cycle recruitment process, from job advertising to sourcing top talent, and conducting interviews.
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies including headhunting to attract the best candidates and position the company as an employer of choice.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:

  • Lead company-wide diversity and inclusion efforts, developing policies and programs that drive a more inclusive culture.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to embed D&I principles into organisational strategies, reviewing and measuring progress regularly.
  • Serve as an advocate and thought leader in fostering a diverse and equitable workplace.

Employee Wellbeing & Engagement:

  • Champion holistic employee wellbeing initiatives that prioritise mental, physical, and emotional health.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance workplace engagement, including social events, recognition programs, and well-being campaigns.
  • Foster a culture of openness and trust by regularly soliciting employee feedback and acting on insights.

Health & Safety Leadership:

  • Ensure the organisation is fully compliant with health and safety regulations, collaborating with external experts where needed.
  • Develop and oversee health and safety policies, lead training, and manage regular safety consultations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage hazard reporting, accident investigations, and fire safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment.

HR Administration & Compliance:

  • Lead HR administration with an eye for detail, ensuring all HR documents, employee records, and payroll operations are accurate and compliant with data protection laws.
  • Regularly produce insightful HR reports and metrics to inform the Chief of Staff and Leadership Team of key workforce trends, ensuring data-driven decisions.

Employee Development:

  • Partner with departmental leaders to assess training needs, develop learning programs, and drive a culture of continuous development.
  • Oversee the delivery of learning programs, ensuring high participation and impact on employee skill development.
  • Maintain detailed training records, tracking participation and success rates, and providing transparency into the company’s development initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in an HR leadership role with a track record of IT recruitment ideally within a standalone capacity or small team.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance, with an understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
  • Passion for creating an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workplace.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects with excellent attention to detail.
