Role Overview
The role of Maintenance Technician at NEP UK is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in broadcasting by being involved directly in the maintenance of technical equipment, OB units, fibre cable and electrical technology of outside broadcasts. During your time across all technical areas, you will gain hands-on experience of the technology, processes and workflows used in outside broadcasts and major events. To ensure you gain a well-rounded and complete understanding of what goes into the services that NEP provide, you will spend time with all maintenance disciplines within the Operations Team at NEP UK's HQ. This role suits ambitious applicants who wish to build a maintenance career in the broadcast industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with the Maintenance Managers across technical, electrical, mechanical and fibre cable disciplines to help ensure all equipment and cable are in full working order.
- Learn to triage OB reports and fault tickets raised and action repairs.
- Perform PAT testing on relevant equipment in preparation for upcoming projects or as part of routine maintenance (training provided).
- Assist the Fibre Maintenance team in testing of SMPTE cable and assisting in the generation of specific video and Cat5 cable.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in the timely returns of repairs to manufacturers including administration and shipping coordination in liaison with the wider operations team.
- Provide support where required to the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the building and repairs to fabrication elements of OB units and tender support vehicles.
- In collaboration with Equipment Resourcing and Prep teams as well as the Electrical Maintenance Manager assist in the preparation of electrical power loads subject to job requirements.

More Details:
- This is a permanent role.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 5:30pm (exclusive of a 1 hour lunch break) and out of hours support as required.
- All applicants must hold the legal right to live and work in the UK. Please be aware that a security or criminal background check may be required to facilitate internal work visas if on-site work opportunities are provided.
- Due to the nature of outside broadcasting and live events, some occasional support outside core hours may be required, and flexibility may be necessary.
- A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
