The role of Guarantee Broadcast Engineer is a senior position within our UK based Engineering team, working on NEP projects with our fleet of IP, UHD and HD outside broadcast trucks, fly-pack systems, and Broadcast Centres. You will play a pivotal role as part of a team, utilising our diverse and scalable combinations of traditional, remote, centralised and cloud-based workflow, capturing, recording, broadcasting and streaming high quality content for our prestigious client base.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a lead Engineer in the delivery of outside broadcasts, both at our base in Bracknell and onsite at various locations, domestically and internationally.
- Show significant understanding of vision control operations with the ability to operate as a Vision Supervisor on all types of OBs.
- Have an ingrained awareness and knowledge of the wider OB solution, including power requirements, air conditioning and unit hydraulic operation.
- Lead and plan the deployment of large fibre installations on outside broadcasts.
- Follow up faults and assist in the maintenance of our fleet.
- First-line fault-finding and repair of a range of broadcast and AV audio and video equipment.
- Interpret and implement instructions and requests from clients, producers, directors and other colleagues.
Skills / Qualifications:
- HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or scientific discipline with demonstrable experience in outside broadcast engineering.
- Previous experience working as an outside broadcast facilities guarantee engineer.
- Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm.
- Ability to use initiative and accept assignments outside of usual experience.
- Time management skills and ability to work to very tight deadlines.
- Must be prepared to work flexibly across all aspects of the NEP Ireland and OBStv teams.
- Willingness to develop a working knowledge of all NEP Ireland and OBStv OB vehicles.
- A thorough knowledge of all broadcast sound equipment and workflows.
- Work within all NEP policies, guidelines and working practices.
