At NEP UK, our Audio Engineers help bring some of the biggest live sporting, entertainment and broadcast productions to audiences around the world. From Premier League football and Wimbledon to The Grand National and major entertainment programmes, our teams deliver the people, technology and technical expertise that keep complex live productions performing at their best.

We’re looking for experienced Audio Engineers at Guarantee level to join our Audio team.

What will you be doing?

Lead audio delivery on major productions.

As a Guarantee Audio Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the technical delivery of audio on assigned productions, from preparation and testing through to the live broadcast.

You’ll:

• Lead the audio delivery of assigned outside broadcasts and live productions
• Prepare, configure, test and operate complex professional broadcast audio systems
• Set up and manage consoles, stageboxes, routing, monitoring and communications
• Work with audio networking technologies and increasingly complex IP-based environments
• Interpret client and production requirements and turn them into robust technical solutions
• Carry out advanced fault-finding and resolve issues quickly and calmly when working under live-production pressure
• Work closely with Vision, VT, Camera, Engineering and Production teams to deliver an integrated technical solution
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, system configurations and production records
• Support system upgrades, technical improvements and the introduction of new technology and workflows
• Provide technical support, guidance and mentoring to Audio Assistants and less experienced Audio Engineers

You’ll be trusted to use your experience and judgement to make the right call, while knowing that you’re part of a wider team of specialists who are always there to support one another.

The technology

The world of broadcast audio is constantly moving forward, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with sophisticated systems across both established and emerging workflows.

Your experience may include:

• Professional broadcast audio consoles and mixing systems
• Complex audio routing and signal flow
• Stageboxes and production infrastructure
• Communications, intercom and monitoring systems
• Dante, AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110-30
• IP-based and hybrid broadcast environments
• Remote production workflows
• Outside broadcast trucks and flypacks
• Integrated audio systems supporting large-scale live productions

Experience with systems from manufacturers such as Calrec, Lawo, Riedel, RTS or Yamaha would be beneficial, but we’re more interested in your technical capability, judgement and real-world live production experience than a particular equipment list.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced broadcast audio professional who can operate independently, take ownership and bring confidence to a live production environment.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience working as an Audio Engineer within outside broadcast, live production or a comparable broadcast environment
• Strong knowledge of professional broadcast audio workflows, signal flow and routing
• Experience configuring and operating complex audio systems and broadcast consoles
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues under time pressure
• Knowledge of modern audio networking technologies such as Dante, AES67 or ST 2110-30
• The ability to remain calm, focused and decisive in a live environment
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Clear and confident communication with clients, production teams and fellow engineers
• A collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge and support developing engineers
• A genuine interest in new technology and a desire to keep developing your technical expertise

Location: Deployed across client projects, with attendance at Gemini House, Bracknell required for job preparation and base operations when needed.

This is primarily a deployed role, so flexibility to travel and work varied schedules is essential to support live productions.
