The Role involves working as a Broadcast Support Engineer, providing support to the various broadcast facilities operated by NEP Connect and its clients.
Responsibilities:
- Providing 2nd line support to broadcast equipment within studios, apparatus rooms, and galleries, for example: production switchers, broadcast cameras, AV routers, audio mixers, modular infrastructure “glue”.
- Providing 2nd line support to our Net Insight Nimbra AnyLive network and associated equipment.
- Supporting and maintaining various IP networks using the following hardware: Cisco, Arista and FS.
- Supporting our satellite dish farm with reactive fault finding and preventative maintenance.
- Ability and competence to evaluate technical problems using appropriate broadcast and networking test and measurement equipment.
- Imaginative approach to problem solving.

- Teamworking and lone working skills.
- To keep the Broadcast Support Manager/Production/NOC Staff appraised of the status of any issues, as appropriate.
- To log all faults and irregularities and pass information between shifts.
- To assist with in-house broadcast project and installation work.
- Performance of preventative maintenance as necessary.
- Oversee external contractors e.g. UPS maintenance teams, electrical safety teams etc.
- Ensure system documentation is up to date.
- Maintain good working knowledge of industry best practice.
- Stay up to date with developments in the relevant technical fields.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Networking & Broadcast Engineering background, a minimum academic standard to HNC/HND level of qualification, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of IP technologies.
- Good understanding of communication systems including mobile and fixed links (terrestrial and satellite).
- CAD skills.
- Knowledge and experience on fault finding on Broadcast systems.
