The Rigging Warehouse Technician is responsible for the inspection, preparation, maintenance, and control of rigging equipment within Creative Technology’s rental inventory. This role is based at the Creative Technology Warehouse in Crawley. Working closely with Operations, Project Managers, and On‑Site Rigging Teams, the role ensures all rigging equipment is maintained to the highest safety, compliance, and performance standards. The position plays a critical role in supporting safe project delivery by guaranteeing that all lifting and suspension equipment is fully certified, fit for purpose, and deployment ready. This is a safety critical position requiring strict adherence to LOLER regulations, industry best practice, and company compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection, Maintenance & Compliance
- Carry out thorough inspection, testing, and certification checks on all rigging equipment including motors, truss, steel wire rope, shackles, lifting accessories, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with LOLER and relevant lifting regulations.
- Maintain inspection records, certification documentation, and asset history logs.
- Identify and quarantine damaged or non-compliant equipment.
- Coordinate third party inspections and certification where required.
- Oversee periodic inspection schedules to ensure no equipment exceeds certification dates.
- Preparation & Operational Support
- Prepare and allocate rigging equipment for upcoming projects in line with technical specifications and project requirements.
- Ensure equipment is correctly labelled, packed, and documented prior to dispatch.
- Work closely with Technical and Project teams to prioritise urgent or revenue critical requirements.
- Conduct post project returns inspection to assess condition, damage, and maintenance needs.
- Support load testing and functional testing of motors and control systems.
- Safely load and unload vehicles in accordance with manual handling guidelines and company procedures.
- Provide out of hours cover as part of the CT call out rota system.
- Asset Control & Stock Management
- Maintain accurate stock control within warehouse management systems.
- Assist with asset condition reporting and lifecycle management.
- Monitor spare parts and consumables stock levels and recommend replenishment where necessary.
- Health & Safety
- Adhere strictly to safe systems of work and warehouse operating procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the rigging department.
- Ensure correct manual handling practices and use of PPE at all times.
- Support risk assessments and method statements where required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the rigging warehouse.
- Other Duties
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers regarding equipment servicing and technical updates.
- Assist with minor maintenance and repairs where appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accreditations including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO20121 standards.
- Participate in training and development to maintain up to date rigging knowledge and certification.
Essential
- Experience working with entertainment or industrial rigging equipment.
- Strong understanding of LOLER and lifting equipment inspection requirements.
