We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse Associate to join our team working across Main Outpatients, Breast Clinics, Orthopaedic Outpatients and the Elective Treatment Suite. We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Nursing Associate to support the Outpatients Department. You must be a registered Nursing Associate with an NMC Pin, or due to qualify within 2 months.
Duties include:
- Assisting with Gynae and Urology procedures and supporting patient Admission and Discharge.
- Providing holistic and person-centred care and support across the sphere of nursing.
- Communicating effectively within the team, with other healthcare professionals and with patients, families and carers.
- Working independently with the support and leadership of registered nurses.
- Ensuring high standards of care and a safe clinical environment are maintained.
We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons. Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non-UK residents.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertaking clinical tasks agreed within competence to the specific clinical area.
- Supporting individuals with all aspects of care including daily living, providing person-centered care and promoting health and independence.
- Implementing a plan of care which is in accordance with the patient’s individual care needs and the predicted date of patient discharge.
- Supporting and maintaining patient safety by undertaking clinical risk assessments.
- Ensuring the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is always maintained.
- Recognising changing priorities and seeking advice and guidance from the Registered Nurse or other registered care professionals as appropriate.
- Working within the principles of informed consent and ensuring valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking nursing and care procedures.
- Reporting any untoward incidences (e.g. complaints, accidents, defective equipment) to the manager/trained nurse and taking appropriate action to ensure safety of patients, staff and relatives.
- Undertaking all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies.

Qualifications:
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) register.
Experience:
- Recent previous experience within a comparable role with transferable skills.
- Experience of developing programmes of care for an individual or groups of patients/clients and of providing advice.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and inter-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and elevate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
- Ability to assess clinical situations and act appropriately.
- Able to assess, plan and evaluate patient care, taking into account the needs and desires of the patients.
- Ability to communicate effectively (Written, verbal and non-verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
