Our client is one of the fastest-growing private equity advisory platforms in North America, partnering with leading sponsors, lenders, boards, and management teams to help middle-market businesses accelerate value creation before, during and after investment.

As the firm continues to scale nationally, they are seeking an experienced Managing Director / Partner to help expand a market-leading Office of the CFO and Value Creation practice.

This is a growth leadership role for someone who enjoys building client relationships as much as solving complex business problems.

The Opportunity

This position is centred on business development, market leadership and practice growth.

You'll leverage your network across private equity, portfolio companies and the middle market to originate new advisory engagements, working alongside an established team of execution specialists to deliver exceptional outcomes.

You'll become a trusted adviser to:

  • Private equity sponsors
  • Operating partners
  • CEOs and CFOs
  • Portfolio company leadership teams
  • Lenders and investors

while helping clients improve performance across finance, operations and enterprise value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and expand relationships across the private equity ecosystem.
  • Originate new advisory engagements within sponsor-backed and middle-market companies.
  • Develop long-term relationships with CFOs, CEOs, operating partners and investment teams.
  • Lead commercial discussions from initial opportunity through proposal and close.
  • Collaborate with specialists across CFO advisory, finance transformation, performance improvement, transactions and restructuring.
  • Provide executive oversight on key client engagements.
  • Help shape the continued growth of a rapidly expanding national practice.

Ideal Background

We're interested in senior leaders who have successfully built consulting practices, developed meaningful client relationships and consistently generated new revenue.

Typical backgrounds could include:

  • Managing Director or Partner within a consulting or advisory firm.
  • Practice leader within Office of the CFO, Performance Improvement, Finance Transformation or Value Creation.
  • Senior operating executive with a significant private equity network.
  • Commercial leader responsible for originating advisory work with middle-market clients.

Experience within firms such as AlixPartners, Alvarez & Marsal, Accordion, FTI Consulting, Riveron, Ankura, West Monroe, Huron, CrossCountry Consulting, EY-Parthenon, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Grant Thornton, RSM or similar environments would be highly relevant.

Successful candidates will typically demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of originating significant consulting revenue.
  • Deep relationships across private equity sponsors, lenders or middle-market executives.
  • Credibility with CEOs, CFOs and Boards.
  • Experience selling complex advisory engagements rather than individual projects.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to help build a market-leading practice.
