Neos Talent is partnering with a high-growth, entrepreneurial advisory firm to appoint a Director to stand up a new data management and analytics capability within its Office of the CFO (OCFO) practice. This is a newly created, strategic leadership role with an initial emphasis on data management and foundations, with analytics to follow as the platform and client base mature. It is a high-impact position at the intersection of data, technology and strategy.

The Opportunity

  • Play a pivotal role in building a new data and analytics capability from the ground up within an established OCFO advisory platform.
  • Help clients move from zero to one, building foundational data infrastructure and governance in environments with no data warehouse, limited integration, and poor data hygiene.
  • Lead work focused on data architecture, pipelines, ETL/ELT design, and governance frameworks — ensuring scalable, high-quality data systems.
  • Act as design authority, overseeing and guiding delivery executed primarily by an offshore data engineering team in India.
  • Initially oversee 10–20 offshore data professionals, with plans to scale the capability over time and add U.S.-based client-facing resources.
  • Partner closely with Managing Directors across OCFO, valuation, transaction services, and performance improvement to identify opportunities, support the sales cycle, and lead client engagements.
  • Translate technical data concepts into clear business and CFO-level value.

Who We're Looking For

  • Background in high-growth consulting or advisory environments with a focus on mid-market clients.
  • 10 plus years of experience in data analytics, including standing up data foundations in low-maturity environments.
  • Strong understanding of how to get the data: data pipelines, data architecture, ETL/ELT, and governance.
  • Technically fluent enough to 'talk the talk and walk the walk,' while remaining commercially and client oriented.
  • Experience owning and guiding delivery, including oversight of offshore engineering teams.
  • Exposure to Office of the CFO or finance transformation is highly valued, though not mandatory.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort building structure where none exists.

Why This Role

  • Rare opportunity to define and lead a capability from inception.
  • High visibility within a growing, multi-practice advisory firm.
  • Clear runway to scale a global data platform.
  • Strong mix of technical leadership, client engagement, and commercial impact.
  • Entrepreneurial culture with pace, autonomy, and influence.
