NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a well‑established and highly respected machinery business within the crushing and screening sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Service Controller to support their Heavy Plant division. This role sits at the heart of the service operation and is pivotal to the success of the business. You will act as the key link between customers, field engineers, and internal departments, ensuring service activity is planned, communicated, and delivered efficiently.
This is a customer‑facing, fast‑paced role that requires strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, and a solid understanding of heavy plant or mobile machinery.
The Role
As Service Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating all service activity across the Heavy Plant fleet. This will include managing breakdowns, planned maintenance, inspections, while keeping customers fully informed and engineers utilised effectively. You will play a key role in ensuring jobs are completed on time, to a high standard, and within agreed commercial parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating engineers’ workloads
- Acting as the main point of contact for customers
- Logging, prioritising, and allocating breakdowns, inspections, and planned maintenance
- Liaising closely with engineers to understand technical issues and job requirements
- Raising and managing job cards, service reports, and associated documentation
- Monitoring job progress and ensuring timely completion
- Supporting the Service Manager with reporting, invoicing information, and job costing
- Maintaining accurate service records and system updates
- Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed
