We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician/Plant Fitter to join our team at a busy operation in the Burton-on-Trent area. The role involves working as part of a small maintenance team and supporting the commissioning and ongoing maintenance of a new state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The ideal candidate will live within 30 minutes of the depots or be willing to relocate. Key Skills and Qualifications Proven experience maintaining heavy plant and machinery; experience with waste and recycling equipment is advantageous. Welding skills are a plus. Reliable, hardworking, and proactive mindset. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Industry-recognized certifications and time-served expertise. Responsibilities Maintenance and repair of heavy plant machinery such as shredders, crushers, screeners, trommels, and loading shovels. Performing regular inspections, servicing, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational, including part fitting and adjustments. Diagnosing faults using computer-based diagnostic tools. Utilizing hand and power tools, welding equipment, and electrical testing tools. Repairing or replacing components, reassembling machinery, and conducting functionality tests. Completing daily maintenance logs, recording work carried out and time spent.
