We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician to join our busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established fleet operation offering a stable shift pattern, competitive hourly rate, and performance-related bonuses. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy goods vehicles to the highest safety and compliance standards.
Working Hours
- Monday – Friday: 7:00am – 6:00pm
- Two Saturday mornings per month: 7:00am – 12:00pm (paid at time and a half)
- Alternative shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off
- Overtime opportunities may be available depending on workload.
Pay & Benefits
- £19.50 per hour (depending on experience)
- Saturday overtime paid at time and a half
- Monthly Bonus Scheme:
- £100 bonus for strong MOT pass rate performance
- £100 monthly bonus for holding a valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure roadworthiness
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
- Complete all job cards and compliance paperwork accurately
- Work to DVSA and company safety standards
- Support breakdown and defect rectification when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician
- Relevant qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to health and safety best practice
Desirable:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- MOT Tester qualification (Class 7)
